Ministry Atmosphere:
Elgin Evangelical Free Church is a place where people are committed to Doing Life In Christ Together. The church is located in Elgin, IL and is part of the Evangelical Free Church of America. The church has one full-time pastor, one part-time associate pastor, and three part-time employees that lead church services and provide support to our community of 200 congregants.
Position Overview:
The Church Office Manager provides management service to the pastors and other staff, ministry teams, groups, and church members, reporting to the senior pastor. The church’s Office Manager is the first “face” of Elgin Evangelical Free Church, both on the phone and in person.
- Part Time: 20 hours a week
- Compensation: $20 hour
Desired Qualifications:
- Warm, friendly, welcoming personality
- Office management experience preferred
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
- Be a self-starter, multitask, and prioritize projects
- Working knowledge of Microsoft applications such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint and Apple products
- General high school degree, or Equivalent, (e.g. GED); collegiate coursework/Bachelor degree preferred
- Christ-follower with enthusiastic support for the mission, vision of EEFC Strong written and interpersonal skills
Responsibilities:
Relational:
- Maintain confidentiality
- Provide a welcoming presence to everyone who visits the building during office hours
Administrative:
- Maintain and publish master church calendar
- Filing, copying, ordering supplies, answering phones
- Maintain church member database and CRM platforms
- Additional administrative duties as assigned or as they emerge
- Prepare mailings to congregation (i.e. elder updates, stewardship letter)
- Work with pastors to prepare worship bulletin and coordinate service media
- Administrate flower purchases for special events (funerals, weddings, hospitalizations, etc.)
Financial:
- Distribute monthly credit card statements
Media & Tech:
- Collaborate with Communications & Creative Director
Evaluation + Reviews:
- This position will receive periodic review for the purpose of encouragement, growth, and direction.
